Pace February Birthday Party

This year we decided to to a joint birthday party for all of the February birthdays. Elizabeth, Gunnar, and Scott all have birthdays in the same week. So we celebrated with dinner, presents and of coarse cake and ice cream. It was a lot of fun and my kids were so excited to get to play with the cousins. Happy Birthday Everyone!

The delicious cake.

Gunnar loved eating cake! I can't believe he will be one!

Time to open presents. Gunnar loved ripping the paper.

Elizabeth opening a fairy doll.

Gunnars present from grandpa.

Scott opening matchbox cars. He loves to hide them in his pjs and button up shirts. So funny!

Rian loved playing with the ribbon from all of the presents.

Pictures from our Snow Day

So I already posted about our snow day, but I finally have some pictures to share. Hooray!

Rian using her snow shovel to help clear the walks.

Pulling Gunnar in the sled. It was a bit harder than Rian thought it would be.

Kids with the sled. It only took like 10 takes to get them both looking.

I kept telling Rian to get close to his face for the picture.
I finally was okay with this one, even though no one was looking.

Gunnar happy to be outside.

Rian and Gunnar making snow angels. Gunnar wasn't happy with this activity. So we finally took him inside for a nap. And then returned outside to finish the snowman.

Our finished product. It only lasted about two hours before he fell over.

Snow Day!

The other day it snowed a few inches here. I must have been feeling like getting outside because I dressed the kids in there snow gear. (on a side note: 'Snowboards' is what Rian calls her snowpants. Probably because we talk about snowboarding.) So I got the kids ready to go outside and we went to the shed to get our little blue infant sled. We buckled Gunnar in and off we were. Rian helped me pull him around in a circle on the front lawn. He thought that was pretty cool as long as we were moving. Then Rian insisted on making a snow angel. I put Gunnar on the ground with her, but he just cried. I guess he didn't want to make one. Then Rian decided that we needed to make a snowman. Rian loves snowmen! It was a good thing that it was good packing snow. We pretty much used all of the snow in the front yard just to make it. We got the two bottom snowballs stacked, then we had to take a 1/2 hr break to get Gunnar to go down for a nap. Then once he was asleep, I had to re-dress Rian because she had taken all of her snow stuff off. I wasn't about to let our snowman go headless, so I took her back out to finish. Then we had to scavenge rocks from the backside of our house for the eyes, nose and mouth. And I must say that finding sticks for the arms took longer than I thought, but eventually we found some that would work. So we made a snowman and Rian was ecstatic! We left for the store and she waved to him and said, "I love you snowman!" and "Goodbye." We were only gone for maybe 2 hours and when we returned home our snowman was leaning backwards. Like almost falling over. I went over and tried to fix him, but wasn't able to do much. Later he completely fell over and Rian was sad that her snowman was a pile of snow on the ground. I had to explain to her that Snowmen melt in the sunshine and that next time it snowed we would have to make another one. She talked about our snowman for days after that. All in all it was a good afternoon with the kids and a great day to be outside. Hooray for Snow Days! I did take some pictures but can't seem to find my camera at the moment. So I'll have to add those later.

Busy Doing Nothing

Yes it's me posting on my blog! I have been wanting to post on here for a while now and it seems like I just never have time. Funny thing is that I am home most of the day. I don't know how it happens but it seems like I can't get anything done. My house is a disaster...I need to do laundry, dishes, pick up EVERYTHING on the floor and I mean vacuum even the tiniest of crumbs because Gunnar will eat anything and everything on the floor, Finish 1/2 started Christmas presents for friends and neighbors, write Christmas letter, pack for this weekend at the Paces, eat healthy, exercise, mail packages, create a new healthy/weight loss blog (ha ha that sounds funny included on this post) and this isn't even the half of it. So hopefully with the new year approaching I will be better and less stressed. And maybe Gunnar won't be teething as much either. Yikes!! So for now, know that I am barely alive and doing well.
