Pneumonia

Yeah, that's right! The black lung hasn't left our house just yet. Just as John was getting better, of coarse, I started coughing and coughing, and coughing...you get the idea. I have hardly been able to sleep this last week because of it. Last night I finally put 4 pillows behind me so I was reclined a little bit but basically sitting up. I slept a little bit better. Today I called the OB and then got sent to the clinic to find out my fate. And Pneumonia was the big winner. So much for working too many hours this week. I now had to miss half of my shift today and all of tomorrow. I know a break is nice, but no worky means no money either. I now have 2 different antibiotics to get rid of this thing. Hopefully tonight will be full of sleeping.

It's a Boy! and an update

I don't know who I have told and who I haven't told and besides that, I just realized I never posted this on our blog. We are expecting our 2nd child on March 17, 2010. I am 21 weeks and 4 days pregnant right now! I can't believe we are already half way! How time flies when you have another child to distract you. Anyway, we are having a baby BOY! Horray!!! We are so excited. Our doctor told us at our 16 week appointment that he thought it was a boy, and we just had our 20 week ultrasound with the tech to confirm that. We have some great pictures from the ultrasound and our dvd is so much fun to watch. Especially with Rian because she always wants to kiss the baby on the tv. At the beginning of the video you can see the baby's hand moving and I always tell her that her brother is waving at her. She waves back and says "hi baby!" It's so adorable!

I'll have to post pictures on here soon. I know I keep saying that, but our computer/scanner is a crazy situation right now. (I have to scan to one computer and save all the pictures, then I copy them to a thumb drive to load them to our other computer that has internet. Totally annoying!) Needless to say I think Santa might bring us a new computer this year.

As for other things, our house has been under the weather for about 3 weeks now. The doctors just said tough it out. It sounds like the flu, drink lots of fluids and get lots of sleep. Do you think Doctors have children? Like getting a lot of sleep is possible. John missed the entire week of work the first week. I missed 2 days. Finally we both went back to work the next monday. I have slowly been getting better, just a little bit of a cough left. John is still hacking up everything. He went back to the Doctor today and got some medication. The doctor said he may be coughing until Christmas. I really hope that isn't the case. Yuck! All in all we are surviving. Even if it is barely making it!

On to better news....My sister Adrienne had a baby girl on November 1st. Leah Calleen Rowley. What a cutie! She is just over 5 lbs. (reminds me of my Rian) a little Peanut! We haven't gotten to see her yet, except for the pictures, because of our sickness. But we want to say Congratulations to the new mom and dad! Hope to see you soon!

Hopefully I can keep this updated a bit better. Thanks for reading!

Happy 2nd Birthday Rian!

Rian turned two this month. I can't believe how big she is getting. She has such a cute personality and is getting more fun each day. She is talking quite a bit (contrary to popular belief) and is even saying 2 word phrases. She can finally jump and can actually get her two little feet off the ground. She is so proud of herself when she does it too! (she's been practicing for a while now.) Rian is such a girl. She asks me to put curlers in her hair, so she can be pretty like a princess. She is so good and will sit still for almost an hour so I can put the sponge curlers in. She loves her babies and especially her mickey and minnie mouse stuffed animals. She also loves Disneyland and will do a little dance every single time she hears the word 'Disneyland'. This week, Rian is spending time at Disneyland with some of our close friends. They call us everyday and she is having a blast. What 2 year old gets to go on a vacation without mom and dad?!? How lucky we are to have Rian in our family. We love you Rian! Happy Birthday!!

Opening Presents-we really had to keep Rian on task to open them all up.

Rian was so cute. She would totally cheese it when someone wanted a picture.

Perhaps one of Rian's favorite parts of her birthday. The Balloons!

Rian loved the Birthday Cake!!

Rian received all kinds of dolls. She plays with every one of them too. Many thanks to everyone who gave gifts and came to celebrate Rian's birthday with us.

These two covers I made for Brandi. I love how they turned out! They are both so different, but perfect for her little princess. Thanks again Brandi!

New Carseat Canopy!

Back at it again! I have been sewing like crazy lately. This one turned out so cute. I am now debating on making some more to sell at my mother-in-laws boutiques coming up in October. If you are interested in one let me know. I sell them for $40-$50 dollars, depending on the embellishments.

All because it is a CIVIC...

John got up for work like any other ordinary day. He went to get into his car when he realized something was wrong. Someone had broken into his car! They totally messed up his cd player, jacked up his ignition with a screw driver or something, and tore everything out of his glove box. As far as we can tell they didn't take anything. How not happy I am that we have to deal with this today. ughh!!!!

Not so funny story

Today I went to work like any normal day. I do some money counting at my job to get the registers ready for the day. When I have finished counting, I have to put the drawers out in the registers. They are quite heavy with all the change in them, so in order to not make more than one trip, we use an office chair to stack the drawers on. So I put the drawers out in the registers. We were ready for our morning meeting at this point and there was only 3 of us (including the manager). So I though to myself (being pregnant and all) that I would sit in the chair I had used during the meeting. I sat down in the chair and leaned back. To my surprise one of the back legs snapped and I fell backwards-hitting my head on the checkout counter and falling to the floor. My manager and associate kindly helped me up. Besides having a nasty headache, I learned that apparently pregnant Jennie was too heavy for that chair. lol I am guessing if it hadn't happened to me, it would have broken on the next person who used it. We watched this on the cameras at our store and it was so funny I just had to laugh at myself and share it with you all. I still have a headache as I am writing this 11 hours later. I think I will be going to see my chiropractor first thing in the morning.

Adrienne's Car Seat Canopy

Here is my latetest car seat canopy creation. It was made for my sister who is expecting a girl in October. We had the best time looking for the perfect fabric and I have to say it is one of my favorites! Now her baby can shop in style!

Rian's Striped Room

I have been planning on painting stripes in Rian's room for a long time now. Although I knew how much work it was going to be. I finally gave in one day and started taping. I taped and measured for hours. Only got 3/4 around the room. So the next day I had the day off as well, so as I continued on with the taping, John started painting the opposite wall. With a few hour breaks we finally finished. I love how it turned out. Rian really loves it too. Everyday she shows me the stripes on her wall.

We're Having a Baby!

Yes, it's true. Here comes number two! We are so excited!! I am due on March 17th, 2010. (St. Patrick's Day.) I have been dying to post this on here, but decided to wait until we had told our parents. I didn't want them finding out through my blog. So far everything is going well. I haven't been too sick, mostly I'm tired. I do have an ultrasound picture, but I'll have to scan it onto my computer first. So check back and I'll be sure to keep you updated. We probably won't know the sex of the baby until late October, early November. So if you have any premonitions about that, let me know. lol Rian seems to be excited. (as much as an almost 2 yr old can be.) She always pats my belly and says "baby!" Yes, I am already showing a ton. Kind of hard to keep it a secret when it's obvious!

So, I set out and found new maternity pants for work. Lucky for me old navy had a sale. Then (and this is awesome)...I went to walmart to find some white collared shirts for work. I picked out one style from the maternity section that I liked and bought two. Now at $12 I didn't really want to pay that much, but I was desperate for new shirts. After I checked out with my things and was walking to my car, I thought...I couldn't have been charged right...I got way more stuff than what I paid for. So when I checked out my receipt. My maternity shirts were "on sale" and rang up for $1.00 a piece. (i promise it even said, "you saved $11.00") and here I thought walmart doesn't have sales, just everyday low prices.

Anyway, enough ramblings of an already crazy pregnant person. Check back soon for pictures!

Happy 24th of July!!

Rian loved the sparklers. It was a little dangerous (for me) at times. She almost got me in the face with one. I was glad to see that she was not scared of them.

These next pictures are of some fireworks we did at our house. It was a lot of fun having family and friends come over for dessert and fireworks.

Snapshots from July

Who can resist a smile like that?

Rian is always doing funny stuff like this.

This picture I took at the Weber State Fireworks. Rian wanted to watch, but was scared, so she hid in my shoulder and peeked out to see all of the Fireworks.

Mom and Rian at the Fireworks.

I mostly liked Rian's hair in these two pictures. She looks so much like a toddler these days. I can't believe she will be two in a month!
