Check out this site: Inkwing.com

InkWing Arts is the official store of the artist Isaac Stewart. He is the artist who designs Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn Trilogy (some of Johns favorite books). John wanted me to post this to enter him into a t-shirt contest and believe me he could use a new shirt. Hope he wins!

A Tea Party for a Princess

Rian turned 3 on September 10th. She insisted that she was having a Princess Party! So I went to work and planned a Princess Tea Party. We told everyone to dress up for the event. When the kids all arrived we went out back to make Princess and Prince Crowns. Who would have ever thought a spray painted Burger King crown and some stick on jewels would be such a hit! They were perfect for the party! (I'm so glad I thought of them.)

Halli and Cassie making a princess crown.

Jennasy and her crown.

After making crowns we played pin Cinderella in her Castle Window. It was really fun, but most of the little kids were like "why do I have to be blindfolded?" So we let them put it on where ever they wanted and everyone won a treat.

We opened presents next and Rian was very excited to open them! She opened her present from Reese before the party so she could wear it. A Princess Tiana Dress!! Princess Tiana is a favorite at our house! Some of her other presents included a Princess Bell Ballerina Barbie, Tiana Underwear, a punch ball, a pillowcase, and nail polish. Thank you everyone!!

Evy gave Rian a princess pillowcase (made by her mom).
Rian loves sleeping with it every night!

She got nail polish and a mirror from Maleah and Ellie

Soon it was time to blow out Rian's candles. I made special princess tea party cupcakes. We baked the cupcakes inside tea cups and wrote each guests name on their plate. We also ate raspberry sherbet and drank pink lemonade (anything Pink, of coarse!)

Before the Princes and Princess' had to leave, we took a group photo. I hope Rian enjoyed her special 3rd birthday party. Many thanks to everyone who came!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Thursday Sept. 9th, John turned 29! Unfortunately, he had to work during the day. After John came home, we were getting ready for the evening and Rian walked up to John and exclaimed, "Happy Birthday Daddy!" It was so cute (and not even rehearsed). I think it made John's day. Then our friends Dave and Megan came down from Logan to go to dinner with us. We all ate yummy food at TGI Fridays (they have John's favorite Jack Daniels Flat Iron Steak there). I have to say that it is pretty good. After dinner, we came back to our house to open presents and to eat New York Style Cheesecake with fresh raspberries. Boy was it delicious! We had a great time visiting with our friends and John seemed to love his presents. Happy 29th Babe!

John got Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime for the Wii from Rian and Gunnar.

I got John a new belt and a Green Lantern Belt Buckle. It even glows in the dark!

Hoogle Zoo

My long time friend Heather was in Utah for the month of August. I was so excited she had time to spend the day with us at the Hoogle Zoo. She has two kids as well Kailer (4) and Meili(2). We had such a good time. To start the day off we rode the train.

Gunnar was riding the Tiger

Anyone see a Kung Fu Panda theme here?
A nice lady offered to take our picture. I was trying to do this and hold Gunnar on his tiger.

We also watched the Bird show. It was really neat.

Before we left for the day we stopped and ate ice cream.
All and all it was a fun day. We did a lot of walking!! I had Gunnar in the baby carrier and was pushing Rian in the stroller most of the day. I was so exhausted when we were done! But we were happy to hang out with our good friends!!

Millett Family Reunion 2010

This year John and I were in charge of the Millett Family Reunion. We were lucky enough to have it at My Aunt Patsy and Uncle Larry's Cabin in the Uintalands. The Reunion was on Thursday August 5th, Friday the 6th, and Saturday the 7th. It was so much fun (and a little stressful) but we were so glad that everyone came.

The first day we had a Japanese dinner to remember my brother Dustin (who passed away in May). He did this at the last reunion and we wanted to do something he would want to do. I know that he would be so proud of his wife Ashley and my Dad who cooked us all a mighty tasty meal. It consisted of Yaki Soba, Curry and Rice, and Gyoza's. Yum!

All of the kids eating Japanese. Or trying to with chopsticks!

Afterwards, everyone cooked smores and visited the rest of the night.

The next day we took a rainy adventure to Mirror Lake. It was nice weather & then it was raining. We all had fun and a lot of the kids caught fish. Unfortunately most of them jumped off the hooks before they could net them. For lunch, John and I cooked up some yummy Philly Cheesesteak Sandwhiches.

Friday afternoon, we did our Annual Whirley Pop Contest. This year we did it Iron Chef style. Mom and Dad brought the secret ingredient (peanuts and heath candy bits). I am proud to say that John and I won!! Our Babe Ruth Popcorn Bars did the trick and were really tasty. Too bad I don't have any pictures of the contest or anyones final plating. Thats okay though...I have the trophy!! After that, we ate Lasagna for dinner and then did a white balloon release with messages to Dustin on them. We put light sticks inside the balloons. It was really touching as my Dad read the poem from Dustin's Funeral.

And the winner is...Jennie and John of coarse!!

The Last day we went for a shoot at the shooting range. Had a family meeting and did lots of 4-wheeling. I was sad that I didn't get many pictures from this Reunion. I guess when your nursing a baby every few hours you forget about whats going on around you. Hopefully my siblings can share some of theirs with me.

Thanks everyone for coming!! Until next year...watch for my prize trophy coming soon to this blog...hehehe)
