Gunnar John Pace

Announcing Our Baby Boy-Gunnar John Pace! Born on Feb. 18, 2010 at 7:33 p.m. 5 lbs 2 oz and 17 1/2 inches. After just 7 hours of Labor he is here!! I was pretty sure my water had broke in the morning, so when I went to my doctor's appointment I packed the car (just in case). Sure enough, the Dr. said to walk across the hall to labor and delivery. I was worried because they were going to give me pitocin and I wanted a natural childbirth. John met me there around 12:30 p.m. I was having regular contractions so the nurse talked to our Dr. and they decided to wait on the pitocin. Hooray! By dinner time I was ready to have the baby. I even choose not to have an epidural and was so glad I did! Gunnar was born at 36 weeks. Although he was small he is a healthy baby boy! We got to come home from the hospital when he was 2 days old. We are all doing really good. It feels nice to be home. Rian is staying with my parents this week and is having a blast with Koda their dog. Here are a few pictures of our wonderful journey!

First Photo Together, many thanks to the nurse!

In the Carseat. I almost had to come home in a car bed because of my size. Mommy convinced the nurse my carseat went down to 4 lbs. So we did a 90 min. car seat check instead (where they watch the oxygen level of the baby. It has to stay above 90 %. I was at 95% the whole time)

Classical Guitar

I have the most amazing classical guitar cd that John bought me a few years back for Valentines or for our Wedding Anniversary. I seriously listen to it every night for relaxation. I have been wanting to find some more music like this for when I have the baby (I have volume 1 of this Sounds of Excellence series). For Christmas this year we looked for the other volumes to this collection. We only had the disk, not the case, and couldn't find anything from the information on the cd. So John bought me a whole slew of classical guitar music cd's hoping that I could find something similar to listen to. The Cd's we got are alright but just not the same feel even though they say "Classical Guitar" on them. Some are a little too upbeat to be relaxing!

So amidst the cleaning (nesting) I have been doing, I found a box of old cd cases the other day and found the cd case to this disk. I now know that the music on the cd I have is performed by a musician named Matteo Campanella. So of coarse I googled his name and found the cd I already have. On ebay right now you can buy it for just $93.40!! Yikes!

I have since found Volumes 2 and 3 on Amazon both for under $10.00. So I snatched them up and I am the happiest person in the world right now!

Merry Christmas!!

Here is a copy of our Christmas Card. I guess you could say I was a slacker. I Still haven't printed them and don't know when (or if) I will find the time to do so. Sorry!! I realized that maybe I should have put Happy Holidays on it now, since Christmas was like 2 weeks ago already. I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Our Christmas was great! I actually had like 5 days off in a row (with some switching of my shifts). So we went out to my parents house in Vernal. It was a blast. I haven't downloaded our pictures from the trip yet so I'll have to post those at a later time. We just got a new computer for part of our Christmas, so I am learning the new Operating System and still trying to figure out all the new settings. So hang in there with me. I also should be able to set my printer up to the computer as well. yeah! So I can scan my ultrasound pictures on here too. Should be awesome.

As for the baby...we are doing good. I am 30 weeks this week. I can't believe that I am in the third trimester already. I am feeling quite prepared this time around. We took a 12 week Bradley Birthing Class that just finished up before Christmas. The class was so good (even after already having a baby). I really hope I go naturally and don't have to get started this time around. I am so much more prepared. :) For baby boy, I have lots of newborn clothes and a few preemie ones just in case. I am now making a list of things that mommy needs before the baby comes. Life is good.

Rian is doing good as well. She has such a cute personality and was so much fun this Christmas. She got a dollhouse and a bicycle this year and she loves both. She is also loving her new Snow white movie and has watched it 4 times in a row on multiple days in a row. She seems excited about the baby, but we will see how she does when she doesn't have my full attention.

Our 4 year anniversary was also on the 30th of December. It was my day off work, so we took Rian to the babysitters in the afternoon and went to a movie and dinner. It was a nice evening spent together. I love you John!! Thanks for the best 4 years of my Life!

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas season. I know that we sure did. Happy New Year! May 2010 be the best for you all!

Pneumonia

Yeah, that's right! The black lung hasn't left our house just yet. Just as John was getting better, of coarse, I started coughing and coughing, and coughing...you get the idea. I have hardly been able to sleep this last week because of it. Last night I finally put 4 pillows behind me so I was reclined a little bit but basically sitting up. I slept a little bit better. Today I called the OB and then got sent to the clinic to find out my fate. And Pneumonia was the big winner. So much for working too many hours this week. I now had to miss half of my shift today and all of tomorrow. I know a break is nice, but no worky means no money either. I now have 2 different antibiotics to get rid of this thing. Hopefully tonight will be full of sleeping.

It's a Boy! and an update

I don't know who I have told and who I haven't told and besides that, I just realized I never posted this on our blog. We are expecting our 2nd child on March 17, 2010. I am 21 weeks and 4 days pregnant right now! I can't believe we are already half way! How time flies when you have another child to distract you. Anyway, we are having a baby BOY! Horray!!! We are so excited. Our doctor told us at our 16 week appointment that he thought it was a boy, and we just had our 20 week ultrasound with the tech to confirm that. We have some great pictures from the ultrasound and our dvd is so much fun to watch. Especially with Rian because she always wants to kiss the baby on the tv. At the beginning of the video you can see the baby's hand moving and I always tell her that her brother is waving at her. She waves back and says "hi baby!" It's so adorable!

I'll have to post pictures on here soon. I know I keep saying that, but our computer/scanner is a crazy situation right now. (I have to scan to one computer and save all the pictures, then I copy them to a thumb drive to load them to our other computer that has internet. Totally annoying!) Needless to say I think Santa might bring us a new computer this year.

As for other things, our house has been under the weather for about 3 weeks now. The doctors just said tough it out. It sounds like the flu, drink lots of fluids and get lots of sleep. Do you think Doctors have children? Like getting a lot of sleep is possible. John missed the entire week of work the first week. I missed 2 days. Finally we both went back to work the next monday. I have slowly been getting better, just a little bit of a cough left. John is still hacking up everything. He went back to the Doctor today and got some medication. The doctor said he may be coughing until Christmas. I really hope that isn't the case. Yuck! All in all we are surviving. Even if it is barely making it!

On to better news....My sister Adrienne had a baby girl on November 1st. Leah Calleen Rowley. What a cutie! She is just over 5 lbs. (reminds me of my Rian) a little Peanut! We haven't gotten to see her yet, except for the pictures, because of our sickness. But we want to say Congratulations to the new mom and dad! Hope to see you soon!

Hopefully I can keep this updated a bit better. Thanks for reading!
